Catalysis for Sustainable Organic Chemistry


The CASCH (Catalysis for Sustainable Organic Chemistry) consortium focuses on a multidisciplinary approach to develop and understand catalysis for challenging chemical transformations. A unique blend of expertise within CASCH will help to develop more sustainable organic chemistry from prevalent but unreactive functional groups.

From January 2020, 15 Centres of Excellence (CoE) are launched in the University of Antwerp. The goal of CoE is to structurally strengthen excellent teams of researchers and to further leverage their international position and impact by providing research funding for a longer period of time (6 years). 15 CoE were selected in a competitive open call, through an external peer review organized by Science Connect, followed by interviews with the principal investigators by an international panel of specialists.
